"I bought this book for my then-4-month-old daughter, who survived open-heart surgery to correct a CHD at just 3 weeks old. While she was then too young to understand, it helped us lay the groundwork for how we'll talk to her about her scar as she grows up. The affirmations helped me, as a heart mom, reframe my view of her scar. She's now 18 months old and this book is in regular rotation - she loves the illustrations!
